Eight hovering humming birds are giving form to an enchanting carousel. This painting is a tribute to the gorgeous and intriguing tiny birds fluttering in Northern California.
This painting was born of a precise idea. I have been lucky enough to observe these birds (hummingbirds) fluttering extensively in Northern California. Their way to fly has been studied in detail as they evolve in a unique way and are very cute. I used to observe them through the window in winter time and sitting just below the drinking trough of sweet nectar suspended outside most of the Californian homes in summertime. The beauty of these mind-blowing birds is due to their small size, their velocity, their particular flight and their immensely varied pigmentations. When I came back to France, I missed this activity very much. I wanted to represent the wonderful and mesmerizing dance of the drinking trough only for being with them.
